Alps-Adriatic-Alliance: Call for applications from August 7th to September 22nd 2025

Alps-Adriatic-Alliance

After a one-year break, the Alps-Adriatic-Alliance is pleased to invite you to the 2025 call for applications! Please hand in your ideas for projects that contribute to a lively exchange and deepened cooperation within the entire network of the Alps-Adriatic Alliance.

The overall funding amount available for this call will be € 50.000,-.

Approaching the end of its chairmanship, Styria as presiding member of the Alps-Adriatic-Council, aims with this year's call to shed a light on deepening the network quality of the Alps-Adriatic-Alliance and strengthening the mutual trust among its members.

This year's call will define "quantity" from a different angle: The focus will be set not on the number of projects handed in, but on the number of AAA-members and, respectively, neighboring regions - specifically former members of the Alps-Adriatic Working Community and Western Balkans regions - participating in each project. Therefore, the number of projects eligible to AAA funding will be limited to five. However, as an incentive, there will not be a restriction as to the amount of funding for each individual project within the overall funding framework.

The call starts on Thursday, August 7th and closes on Monday, September 22nd  2025.

In this call, the Alps-Adriatic-Alliance will solely focus on joint projects which strengthen the AAA network, promote the visibility of the Alps-Adriatic area as one of Europe's most diverse geographical spaces, and meet the goals of the Alps-Adriatic Strategy "SAA-2027" (see pp. 59/60 of "SAA - 2027").

The respective Thematic Coordination Point (TCP) will gladly support you in every step of your application. Please make sure to contact the Thematic Coordination Point (TCP) that is relevant to the nature of your project theme, before handing in your application! You will find your TCP contacts here: https://alps-adriatic-alliance.org/contact/.

Please make sure that your project proposal meets the following criteria:

  • Projects financed by the AAA must involve the absolute minimum of three regular members of the AAA from three different countries.
  • The applications eligible to funding will be ranked according to the number of AAA-members and, respectively, neighboring regions participating in the project.
  • All members of the AAA must have the opportunity to be part of the project.
  • The role of each partner has to be described in the application.
  • The expected added value of the project for the entire AAA must be clearly described in the application form and is subject to evaluation after the project is completed.
  • The general outreach of the project (participants, possible visitors, expected media reception, printed and/or online publication of results etc.) is essential.
  • All projects must support the Priority "Strengthen Community Cohesion", as defined in the Alps-Adriatic Strategy "SAA-2027" (see pp. 59/60 of "SAA - 2027")

The Thematic Coordination Points are ready to support you with information and an extensive network at any time.

Please send your application form to the responsible  Thematic Coordination Point (TCP) by Monday, September 22nd, 2025, 23:59 hours.
